Sign installation

Our installation covers the full on-site setup: positioning and levelling, the mechanical fixing, the electrical connection at the sign, and a final inspection before we hand over. On installation orders delivery is included — we bring everything to site. If you would rather collect the finished sign from our factory and arrange your own fitting, collection is free.

Most storefront signs go on at ground level from a ladder or a small platform. Above that, the access equipment becomes the single biggest variable in the price. We have set illuminated letters along a rooftop parapet several floors up, worked across a whole building elevation bay by bay from scissor lifts, and hung printed panels on a building face by rope access where no machine could reach.

Access equipment, a street closure where a machine has to stand on the road, and the extra crew a height job needs are all part of the installation quote — and all of them are stated before we start.

An illuminated sign needs a supply, and the supply is the part most often underestimated. We make the connection at the sign end — driver, feed and sealing — as part of the installation. What we cannot do is create a circuit that does not exist: if the fascia has no supply near it, an electrician has to bring one, and that work sits outside our quote.

Our warranty terms are explicit that infrastructure problems, including electrical work carried out by others, are not covered. The supply is worth resolving while the sign is still being built, rather than on installation day — our own work carries a 6-month warranty that excludes external damage, and a circuit somebody else brought in is exactly that.

We install across Guanacaste at no extra travel cost. Outside Guanacaste we still take the work, and any travel charge is stated in the quote before you approve it — never added afterwards.

Three things save more time than anything else. First, confirmed access: if a lift has to stand somewhere, we need to know that it can. Second, a decision on the fixing surface — render, block, stone cladding, glass and composite panel all take different fixings, and a photo of the wall before we quote is worth a site visit later. Third, the power supply, as above.

If any of the three is unresolved on the day, the sign goes back on the truck. Nobody wants that.

We will consider it, but only after our team has inspected the sign on site. Because we did not build it we do not know how it was constructed, what materials were used or how it is wired — and we are not willing to hang something over a public footway on an assumption. The inspection comes first; then we tell you whether we can take it on.

A sign fixed to a building is a licensed act, not a decoration, and the licence is easier to obtain while the design is still a sketch.
